Michael is a registered patent attorney with a legal practice that is focused on intellectual property, and specifically patent law.  Michael has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications, and has been requested by clients to speak to their in-house legal teams on dynamic areas of patent law, including subject matter eligibility.  Michael has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a wide range of technical fields, with emphasis on computer software (including artificial intelligence, control systems, and electronic health record systems), LIDAR and RADAR systems, renewable energy systems, wireless communication technologies, robotics, X-ray systems, heating and cooling systems, programmable logic controllers, nuclear power systems, perception systems in autonomous vehicles, amongst others.

Michael additionally has experience with assisting clients develop and maintain their patent portfolios (both domestically and in foreign jurisdictions), drafting and negotiating software licenses, asserting patent rights, drafting non-infringement and freed to operate opinions, responding to allegations of patent infringements, counseling in the design of products to avoid patents held by others, and advising clients as to national and international data privacy laws.
